The College of Health and Human Services at Shawnee State University seeks qualified individuals to apply for the full-time Academic Fieldwork Coordinator position for the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program in the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences (Undergraduate Program).

The Academic Fieldwork Coordinator is responsible for:

  • Ensuring uniform implementation of the program
  • Ensuring fieldwork program meets accreditation standards
  • Ongoing communication with the program director
  • Must possess the expertise to ensure appropriate curriculum design, and content delivery of the broad scope of occupational therapy practice
  • Must possess the academic and experiential qualifications and backgrounds that are necessary to meet program and course objectives and the mission of the institution
  • Teaching OTAT courses within area of expertise
  • Student advising

Minimum Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, and EXPERIENCE

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant with current Ohio license and current NBCOT certification
  2. Master’s degree in area of teaching specialization from a regionally accredited institution
  3. At least 5 years’ experience as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
  4. At least 1 year of experience in a full-time academic appointment with teaching responsibilities at the postsecondary level

PREFERRED BACKGROUND and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • 2-3 years of teaching experience in an Occupational Therapy Assistant program including student advising
  • Experience as an Academic Fieldwork Coordinator in an Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
  • Experience with geriatric and mental health populations
  • Experience in a variety of occupational therapy practice settings
  • Experience using EXXAT platform
