Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan and carry out instructional duties, which maximize learning by students.
- Supervise students in accordance with program procedures, academic, and course related concerns.
- Teach assigned courses in accordance with course descriptions.
- Assist with registration and/or recruitment when requested.
- Syllabus must be submitted to dean’s office prior to or during the first week classes begin.
- Furnish each student with a course syllabus, which follows the prescribed format, including evaluation procedures, withdrawal procedures, class attendance, and other policies consistent with college procedures. and office phone and e-mail access.
- Attend all scheduled or called meetings by the President or Vice President of Academic Affairs, Deans, LSSC supervisor, unless excused by the administrator in charge.
- Teach all classes for the full period as scheduled.
- Evaluate student progress and achievement with clear methods presented on course syllabus.
- Utilize evaluation results for planning, instruction, counseling, and program modification.
- Keep accurate and up-to-date records.
- Submit grade reports and other required data on or before deadline dates.
- Resolve discipline problems within sphere of responsibility.
- Assist and counsel students as needed.
- Utilize material and equipment necessary to accomplish designated tasks.
- Demonstrate knowledge of current instructional developments.
- Regularly examine content of assigned courses and recommend changes to LSSC supervisor if needed.
- Complies with appropriate administrative rules/regulations and Board Policy.
- Participate in an annual evaluation process as specified by the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
- Maintain continuity of communication with students, community, faculty, staff, and supervisors through timely replies to meeting, phone, mail, and email requests.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Adhere to all workplace safety rules, safety laws, regulations, standards and practices.
- Ability to work various hours including nights, early morning and weekends.
- Ability to travel amongst various campuses and attend College events, or off campus, as required.
Minimum Qualifications & Education
- Required Bachelor’s Degree
- Preferred Master’s Degree with 18 graduate semester hours in teaching discipline, or relevant industry experience for alternate credentialing in workforce programs.
