Adjunct Faculty
Whittier College invites applications for an Adjunct Faculty for Mathematics.

Exempt Status: Exempt (bi-weekly)
Hours: Monday – Friday, 19 hours per week
Full Time/Part Time status: Part-Time
Semester: Fall 2025
Salary: $6750

Reports to: Department Chair

Location/Department: Whittier College/Academic Affairs/Math
Responsibilities

Teach one college algebra class, which meets MWF 9-9:50 in person. The teaching load for this position is 1 course per semester, and/or 3 credits. The position entails offering core courses in the field of Math.

The adjunct professor will teach the following course in Fall 2025: 

Math 76 College Algebra
Basic properties of real numbers; linear equations and inequalities; quadratic equations; graphs of linear and quadratic equations. Intended to prepare students for MATH 085 . Also serves as preparation for MATH 080 or certain courses in other departments. Not open to students who scored 3 or higher on the Math Placement Exam or who have received credit for MATH 085 or higher. This course is offered every semester.

Position Qualifications and Requirements:
A qualified candidate will have at minimum a master’s degree in Mathematics or Statistics and evidence of successful teaching at the undergraduate level.
