Position Description
The Affiliate Faculty member is appointed to provide specialized clinical and administrative supervision for MSW students in internship placements. This role is specifically designed for students at sites where an on-site MSW supervisor is unavailable.

- External Supervision: Provide weekly group supervision (5-8 students per group) for up to 75 students per contract cycle,
- Educational Supervision: Guide students in the integration of classroom theory with internship practice ensuring adherence to the NASW Code of Ethics and CSWE Social Work Competencies.
- Site Visits & Evaluations: Complete required site visits (virtual) at least once per student. Complete mid-term and final internship evaluations (including individual meetings with each student to review mid-term and final evaluations).
- Documentation: Review and provide written feedback on process recordings for all assigned students. Review and provide written feedback on supervision agendas for all assigned students.
- Student Support: Identify and support in remediating performance issues. Support students with concerns with their internship site or other related internship challenges. Support in developing “Performance Improvement Plans” when necessary with the MSW Internship Team.
- Departmental Participation: Attend Internship Meetings and MSW Program Meetings as required.
- Interview Students – Admissions: Conduct professional interviews for MSW program applicants to assess their readiness, emotional intelligence, and alignment with social work values. This task is to be assigned and completed during high volume admissions seasons.
- Maintain compliance with CSWE accreditation standards.
- Uphold the vision of the Social Work Department.

- MSW from a CSWE accredited program
- Minimum of two years post-MSW practice experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to collaboration and shared decision-making.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently across organizational units and with a diverse faculty/staff team and student body.
- Ability to investigate and analyze information, engages in critical thinking and problem solving, as well as maintains confidentiality of information.
- Detail oriented.
- Proficient skill with Google Suites.
- Embodiment of the values of caring and compassion, justice and integrity, competence and accountability.

Supplemental Information
The Social Work Department has seven full-time faculty. The BSW program has been accredited by CSWE since 1974 and MSW program since 2024. The Social Work Department at Eastern University educates and prepares students to be competent, generalist (BSW), and advanced generalist (MSW) social work practitioners who are knowledgeable, skilled, and compassionate representatives of God’s mercy and justice in meeting common human needs with particular attention to vulnerable and oppressed populations and communities. This mission is accomplished through: 1) preparing students for social work practice with diverse individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities; 2) educating students about the values and ethics of the profession and to ethically integrate a Christian perspective embodying empathy, justice, and the dignity and worth of each person; and 3) educating students to use critical analysis and scientific inquiry to develop a social work knowledge base and skills.

Results must be submitted within ten days of receipt.
