Regis College is seeking an Assistant/Associate Professor for the undergraduate program in Public Health. This position will focus on teaching both in-person traditional undergraduate courses, hybrid offerings, and fully online asynchronous courses on the main campus as well as in the online bachelor’s completion program in public health. Responsibilities also include student advisement and professional guidance, assisting the program director with assessment, program development, and program review, and collaboration with other faculty to promote an engaging learning environment.
Qualified applicants will have an earned doctorate in Public Health or related discipline and experience teaching at the undergraduate level. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience with both in-person and online instruction and course development, are able to teach across the public health curriculum, and have teaching or research experience related to environmental health, epidemiology, global health, and/or workforce development. A knowledge of and connection to the Massachusetts Public Health network would be considered a positive attribute. Essential Job Functions
- Advise undergraduate public health students, particularly those in the bachelor’s completion program.
- Develop content, design and teach in-person, hybrid, and/or fully online courses.
- Teach, organize, and coordinate assigned courses within the discipline including curriculum maintenance, innovation of content, curriculum assessment, and documentation.
- Assign grades and provide relevant, substantive, and value-added feedback in a timely manner (as described in the Faculty Handbook) through appropriate online classroom systems.
- Respond to student email inquiries in a timely manner utilizing official university email account.
- Engage in scholarly/service activities appropriate to the discipline such as serving on local, state or national committees, publishing and/or reviewing scholarly articles and abstracts, presenting at national, regional, and local conferences, conducting research and/or grant writing and related activities.
- On-campus presence necessary to enhance student interaction and promote the public health program
- Participate in regular meetings and faculty development opportunities.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the Program Director.
Requirements
- Terminal degree in public health or related area.
- 2-5 years of experience with university level in-person, hybrid, and online teaching preferred.
- Expertise in Environmental Health and Epidemiology preferred

- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret public health periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Knowledge of National Standards for Undergraduate Education in Public Health set by the Association for Schools and Programs in Public Health (ASPPH) and Council for Education on Public Health (CEPH).
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
- Normal office environment, not subject to extremes in temperature, noise, odors, etc.
- May spend extended periods at a computer
- Ability to teach in both an on-campus classroom and online setting
