The Department of Business at Concord University invites applications for a tenure-track position in economics and business at the Assistant/Associate Professor level, effective August 2025.

We are seeking highly qualified individuals to join our faculty, individuals who can apply their education and work experience to instruction that will enrich our students, further Concord’s commitment to programs of excellence, and reinforce CU’s mission to serve the region. This is a full-time position that includes teaching undergraduate classes in economics, business, and courses in the MBA program. Additional responsibilities include academic advising, scholarship, and service.

Candidate Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. or D.B.A. in economics, business, or related field from a regionally accredited intuition. Individuals with a solid research background who are ABD at the final stage of completion of the dissertation may, at the discretion of the University, be considered. Related experience is desirable. The successful candidate must possess demonstrated teaching competency and also must have a strong commitment to, and understanding of, the role of undergraduate business education in a liberal arts environment. Programmatic research and/or a prior record of publishing is essential as we require and support faculty research productivity.

Position Responsibilities:

Faculty members assume an active and collegial role in the planning and governance of the Department’s activities and expectations. Primary responsibility will include teaching a variety of undergraduate economic and business courses such as micro/macroeconomics and quantitative business courses, with a 4/4 teaching load. In addition, faculty are responsible for advising, participation in curriculum review and development, and assessment of student learning. A portion of service activities will include serving on University and Departmental committees.

The candidate will be expected to conduct scholarly research and be involved in service to the regional business community.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
