Job Summary
Provides leadership and independently manages the day to day operations of operations of Accessibility and Disability Services at assigned campuses and sites including direct supervision of professional and support staff, service delivery and coordination with staff, faculty and outside agencies.
Serve as the primary contact with assigned academic schools and departments. Manage a caseload of students with disabilities to include disability, academic, career and personal advising to students in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and College Policy.
Foster and maintain close working relationships with various campuses administrators, departmental staff and faculty in order to resolve accommodation and coordination issues. Assist the Director in writing assessments and reporting.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities & Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Oversee delivery of disability services on respective campuses both by direct delivery through ADC staff and equipment, as well as through coordination with other departments.
- Foster and maintain close working relationships with various campus administrators, departmental staff and faculty for students and resolve accommodation and coordination issues in a timely manner. Promote a campus environment that is inclusive for students with disabilities, and is built upon principles of the social model of disability.
- Evaluate services and recommend new and streamlined procedures to achieve timely and effective results.
- Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate ADC Advisors and other service providers. Approve work schedules, timesheets, and recommend other salaries, services, equipment, supplies, and day to day office needs as agreed upon by the director and assistant directors to meet the workload.
- Review eligibility determinations made by Advisors and provide suggestions regarding interpretation of medical/mental health documentation, identifying substantial limitations in an academic setting, and approving accommodations for new students.
- Advise ADC staff on complex issues including eligibility determination, accessibility advising, crisis management, and mediation. Provide consultation to the ADC as supported by the Director regarding interpretation of laws and regulations, medical documentation, and the provision of reasonable accommodations for students.
- Provide ongoing feedback regarding case management.

- Provide disability advising in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 to the Rehabilitation Act and College Policy to a caseload of students. Refer to other Student Services advisors for academic, career, financial, tutoring, health and wellness, and other personal advising to students.
- Work in concert with the Director to guide the department by collecting data and developing assessment plans that lead to continuous improvement of services; provide strategic interaction and advisement to the Director on what is needed in the department and on other campuses, as well as formulating future plans for the department.
- Plan and manage projects, including implementation of the decisions agreed upon by the director and assistant directors.
- Participate in other institutional, community, and professional development activities and duties as assigned including acting as Director as approved by the Director.

Minimum qualifications
Bachelors Degree with emphasis in rehabilitation, special education, counseling, career development and training, psychology, social work or a closely related field.
Three (3) years direct, full-time, paid experience determining and providing accommodations for students with disabilities in higher education.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters Degree with emphasis in rehabilitation, special education, counseling, career development and training, psychology, social work or a closely related field.
One (1) year supervisory experience.
Professional licensure in a closely related field (CRC,LCSW,LVRC,CMHC, etc).
Speak a second language (ALS, Spanish, etc.).
Veteran or Veteran with a disability.
