Job Description:

  • Assists the Director in managing MBORN compliance/approval, CCNE accreditation process and the Division of Nursing Systematic Evaluation Plan (SEP), adhering to all designated policies and procedures required for each and producing outcomes designated for each
  • Facilitate program assessment and review and revision of the curriculum plan as part of the ongoing design and continuous implementation of assessment of student learning outcomes and academic program improvement for the Division of Nursing
  • Coordinate and participate in the ongoing design and continuous implementation of assessment of student learning outcomes and academic program improvement activities in the areas of General Education and the academic major, attend the AIC assessment workshops.
  • Ensure simulation-based education practices – development, implementation and assessment.
  • Assist the planning, assignment, and supervision of student clinical experiences in contracted learning environments across the curriculum
  • Teach 6 credit hours/semester (classroom and/or clinical) or equivalent as assigned by department chair/director or dean.
  • Serve as an advisor to students and collaborate with the professional advisors and CASAA.
  • Collaborate with Director to ensure continued compliance with policies and standards related to admission and progression of students in programs
  • Address undergraduate student concerns and refer to the Director and/or Dean as appropriate
  • Contribute to preparation of undergraduate nursing program documents such as, strategic/action plans, annual reports, catalogs, schedules and other publications
  • Facilitate recruitment of new faculty/Clinical Supervisors and coordination, mentoring and review of all adjunct clinical faculty.
  • Collaborate with Laboratory coordinator in maintaining the Clinical Placement Grid (CCP) and compliance with clinical agency requirements
  • Engage in scholarly activities appropriate to one’s discipline, teaching responsibilities and other academic responsibilities
  • Engage in service to the School and College via committee membership.
  • Attends required convocations, meetings, commencement, academic awards ceremonies, and workshops and be available to participate in activities that promote the College in a positive manner both on and off campus.
  • Hold at least four office hours weekly, scheduled to meet needs of students, and be available to meet with students as needed at other times.
  • Participate in professional development activities related to one’s faculty role.
  • Attend scheduled general faculty, school faculty, and departmental faculty meetings; attend Town meetings and Faculty Assembly meetings
  • Maintain an active, unencumbered nursing license in the State of Massachusetts, including completion of required continuing education
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in nursing, Doctorate preferred in nursing or related field.
  • 1- 2 years of teaching experience in a BSN program.
  • 3-5 years professional nursing practice experience in area(s) of teaching responsibilities.
  • Licensed or eligible to be licensed as a registered nurse in State of Massachusetts.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Blackboard, and the instructional use of technology to teach traditional, hybrid or on-line courses, as needed.
  • Strong commitment to high-quality instruction in a diverse, student-centered environment and the ability to work with students with various learning styles and backgrounds.
  • Interest in active and collaborative learning and enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Ability to foster a collaborative atmosphere among students, faculty, and staff.
  • Enthusiastic, committed teacher-scholar with demonstrated excellence in teaching and scholarship.
  • This is a 10-month position.
