Position Description
Northeastern State University is seeking a full-time, 9-month Assistant Professor of Accounting to join the faculty of the College of Business and Technology beginning August 1, 2025. The position is based on the Tahlequah campus, with potential teaching responsibilities on the Broken Arrow campus, as well as online or via Zoom, as needed.
The successful candidate must hold an earned doctorate in Accounting or a related discipline at the time of appointment. Candidates should have experience teaching in traditional, hybrid, online, or cohort-based environments, and must be prepared to teach undergraduate and graduate accounting courses. The ability to teach in finance-related areas is a plus.
In line with accreditation standards, the faculty member will:
- Engage in scholarly activity, including a minimum of two peer-reviewed journal publications within a rolling five-year period
- Participate in college and university committees
- Support student recruitment and industry engagement
- Assist with internships and experiential learning opportunities
Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding instruction and mentoring at both undergraduate and graduate levels
- Participate actively in scholarship, service, and outreach
- Recruit students from high schools, community colleges, adult learners, and industry partners, including via social media and events
- Connect with industry for internships, consulting, and collaborative opportunities
- Contribute to a diverse and inclusive academic community
Qualifications
- Doctorate in Accounting from an accredited institution (required)
- Demonstrated potential or record of peer-reviewed scholarship
- Experience in multiple delivery formats (face-to-face, hybrid, online) preferred
- Strong interest in student engagement, advising, and recruitment

Compensation and Benefits
- Annual Salary: $103,370.00
