Job Summary:
Regis University in Denver, Colorado invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Biology. At the rank of Assistant Professor, the selected candidate will teach seven courses (21 credits) over a nine-month period. Successful candidates will show potential for excellent teaching and noteworthy scholarship in their discipline.

- Develop instructional plans (syllabus) for each class and ensure course content aligns with department standards;
- Plan Biology lectures, labs and assignments for Biology and Ecology students
- Teach the following courses: Introductory Biology; Introduction to Environmental Science; Ecology; and an interdisciplinary writing-intensive course in the Regis College Core Curriculum
- Teach an upper-division course in Ecology or Biology
- Grade assignments, papers, and other student work, monitor student progress, and provide additional guidance or instruction, where appropriate;
- Maintain office hours and occasionally meet with students outside office hours to support student learning;
- Advise students
- Maintain currency in Biology, including occasional related conference attendance;
- Develop and continue scholarly research in the field, which may include the involvement of undergraduate students;
- Attend Department of Biology meetings;
- Perform community or academic service outside the Department on committees, groups and/or task forces.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Biology, Environmental Science, Ecology, Evolutionary Biology, or a related field
- 8 semesters teaching Field Ecology, Organismic Biology, Ecology, Zoology, or Biology Lab as grad student instructor or teaching assistant, including 4 field seasons (12 mos) of ecological field project supervision.
- Grad student instructor or teaching assistant position must include demonstrated working knowledge of: Field research techniques including small mammal trapping, camera trapping, mammal dissection, zoonotic agent detection, vegetation surveys; Field research design and data analysis from ecological investigations that support monitoring of wildlife and the success of conservation practices; Field work in protected areas with international emphasis; Acquiring funding for research, travel, and conferences
- Must have 5 or more peer-reviewed publications and/or presentations including at least 1 at international conference.
