The Department of Public Policy and Administration in the College of Liberal Arts at Jackson State University invites applications for a position as Assistant Professor. Candidate must have the ability to teach Principles, Administrative Theory, Research, Urban Management, Administrative Law, and other courses in the Ph.D. and MPPA curriculum.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach courses in in the following areas: Organizational Theory, Principles of Public Administration, Research and Urban Management, Administrative Law, Organizational Behavior, and courses in the Judicial Administration concentration.
- Mentor and advise students.
- Serve on Departmental, School, College, University or Community Committees.
- Participate in program assessment of student learning outcomes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Doctorate in Public Policy, Public Administration or Public Affairs.
- Ability to teach Principles, Administrative Theory, Research, Urban Management, Administrative Law, and other courses in the Ph.D. and MPPA curriculum, demonstrated through transcripts and experience.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various constituencies on multiple projects.
- Demonstrate a willingness to engage in grantsmanship and published research.
- Demonstrate a willingness to teach online courses.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
