The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for an Assistant Professor-in-Residence in the Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics in the School of Public Health [R0148440].

ROLE of the POSITION

This is a 9-month, non-tenure track position beginning in Spring 2026. The position requires a 4/4 teaching schedule with an option for course reduction with research activity and/or extensive departmental contributions. Candidates must have a solid methodological or applied background in biostatistics, statistics, or related field (IE – epidemiology), excellent oral and written communication skills, a strong interest in teaching and mentoring of undergraduate, Masters and PhD degree-seeking graduate students. Candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in biostatistics and other public health related courses. Service is a requirement including academic, professional and/or community service participation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a PhD in biostatistics, epidemiology, statistics, or another quantitative field from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred candidates will have demonstrated teaching ability and service experience with graduate student committees.
