Position Summary

Morehouse College welcomes applications for two tenure track positions in the Department of Mathematics beginning Fall 2026. These positions are open to candidates in any research area in mathematics. Some preference will be given to candidates with interests related to the use of statistical or computational tools in the mathematics. Applicants who can demonstrate strong teaching and research skills and the willingness to advise and develop undergraduate students are sought. The ideal candidate should have a research agenda that includes the potential to engage undergraduates in research and experiences that develop research readiness, as well as a commitment to effective teaching in a range of undergraduate courses (freshmen through senior year). The teaching load is 3 courses each semester. All teaching is expected to be in person.

Required Qualifications

Applicants should have a PhD in Mathematics or closely related discipline and a strong interest in teaching. Research interests in a wide range of mathematical areas will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

We are particularly interested in individuals who have a demonstrated commitment to undergraduate liberal arts teaching, who can incorporate undergraduates in their research, and who are interested in mentoring students with a broad range of backgrounds and experiences.
