Job Duties:

Tenure track, academic year opening at the assistant professor level beginning Fall 2026. The position is a 4/4 teaching load split between teaching introductory and upper-level accounting classes. Candidates may have the opportunity to teach in the MBA program and may be asked to teach at branch campuses in the surrounding communities of Wausau and Marshfield. Strong candidates will have a demonstrated ability to teach at the undergraduate and graduate level and conduct scholarly research. Although we are a teaching-oriented department, scholarly activity, professional growth, and university service are required. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • Earned doctorate (PhD, DBA, etc.) in Accounting or in a related field from an AACSB or equivalently accredited college or university, or other high-quality institution.
    • Doctorate or ABD with doctorate completed within one year required for faculty rank. These candidates will be given preferred consideration.
    • Candidates with a Master’s degree may be considered for Lecturer rank with the obligation to complete an academic doctorate with 6 years of initial hire, if there are no qualified candidates with a terminal degree. Partial financial support is available for the cost of doctoral studies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate level, particularly in Accounting.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct scholarly research.
  • Relevant professional experience.
  • Relevant industry certification (CPA, CMA, etc.)
