ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The School of Information Systems and Management at the Muma College of Business includes faculty members who engage in fundamental research in management, information systems, and data analytics, collaborate in interdisciplinary research programs, and publish in the leading journals in management, information systems and data analytics. The School serves a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate programs at the college and university levels including the BS in Business Administration with major and minors in Management & MIS, MS in Management, MS in MIS, MS in Cybersecurity, MBA, Executive MBA, Ph.D., and DBA. POSITION SUMMARY:
The School of Information Systems and Management (SISM) in the Muma College of Business at the University of South Florida (USF) is recruiting one tenure-track faculty position with a focus on analytics at the level of Assistant Professor to begin in Fall 2025. The positions will be located on the Tampa campus and will participate fully as part of the vibrant SISM team across the three campuses of USF (Tampa, St. Petersburg, Sarasota-Manatee). The hired faculty members will conduct high quality research leading to publications in premier journals in the discipline, will write grant proposals for federal competitive grants, and will teach in the doctoral, masters and undergraduate SISM programs. Responsibilities will also include service activities that support the missions of USF, the Muma College of Business, and the broader Tampa Bay communities. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
A PhD in Information Systems/Data Science/Statistics/Computer Science or a related discipline from a top University (an AAU institution or equivalent international university).
Candidates who will successfully complete all requirements for their doctorate degree by July 2025, including final dissertation defense, may also apply.
PREFERRED:
- A record of research publication(s) accepted, or in late-stage review, in premier journals such as MISQ, ISR, Management Science, POM, INFORMS Journal on Computing, JMIS or in equivalent disciplines specific outlets, commensurate with experience.
- Ability to develop and offer relevant courses for the doctoral, masters and bachelors programs in business analytics, big data, machine learning and AI with a focus on business applications.
- Interest and ability to develop industry/community connections.
- Interest and ability to achieve research grant success from competitive federal institutions such as NSF/NIH/DOD/DOE etc.
- Interest and ability to participate in interdisciplinary research projects across University Colleges.
