Job description

The School of Engineering and Engineering Technology at LeTourneau University invites applicants for a tenure-track position in the field of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate (Master’s) courses, with primary needs in Electromagnetic Fields and Waves and Communications Engineering, with a willingness to teach courses in related areas. In addition to teaching, the faculty member will be expected to pursue scholarly endeavors, engage in innovative curriculum development, advise and mentor students, and participate in departmental and university service.

QUALIFICATIONS:

LeTourneau University seeks an individual with an enthusiastic and contagious Christian faith who is committed to teaching at a dynamic Christian university where the integration of faith and academic excellence is paramount. The candidate must also be in genuine agreement with the University’s Statement of Faith and Community Covenant for life and work at LeTourneau. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field such as Biomedical Engineering/Bioelectronics. The individual must also be able to effectively communicate subject material and have the ability to relate to students and faculty well.

SCHEDULE:

The position is a full-time, tenure-track position with teaching during the fall and spring semesters with the possibility of summer school teaching. Classes and other responsibilities are conducted primarily weekdays but will include some evening classes and independent studies. Attendance will also be required at some evening and weekend events.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

The School of Engineering and Engineering Technology offers EAC/ABET accredited degrees in Electrical and Computer engineering with concentrations in biomedical, computer, electrical, and mechatronics; in Civil Engineering; in Mechanical Engineering; in Engineering with a concentration in welding and materials joining; and a TAC/ABET accredited degree in engineering technology with concentrations in mechanical, electrical, and welding and materials joining. The School of Engineering and Engineering Technology enrolls nearly 500 students with 25 full-time faculty.
