POSITION SPECIFICS
The Department of Finance of The Pennsylvania State University (University Park) seeks to fill up to two tenure-line faculty positions at the Assistant Professor rank beginning in Fall 2026. Candidates must contribute to the mission of the Smeal College of Business and the Department of Finance in the areas of research, teaching, and service. In particular, the candidate must conduct high quality research that is published or publishable in top-tier academic journals; effectively teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels; serve as a research advisor and mentor to PhD students; engage in service activities commensurate with their rank; and contribute to the collegial and intellectual atmosphere of the department. Onsite teaching is an essential function of this position.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
A successful candidate is expected to have a Ph.D. in Finance or a closely related field; ABD candidates should expect to complete their degree requirements by the time of the appointment. Also required is evidence of a research agenda with potential for publications in top-tier finance and economics journals. Experienced applicants should have an established record of scholarly research published in the top journals in finance.
