Mercyhurst University invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Marketing within the Walker Business Department. Candidates with a master’s degree in marketing and substantial industry experience are encouraged to apply. A terminal degree (Ph.D. or DBA) is preferred but not required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to): The ideal candidate will be prepared to instruct a wide range of undergraduate courses in various marketing subjects including Marketing Research, Marketing Management, Digital Marketing, Consumer Behavior, Principles of Marketing, and other courses as needed. Teaching methods should engage students through experiential learning, case studies, and real-world applications.The candidate will be responsible for advising and mentoring students, participate in curriculum development, and maintain currency in the marketing field through professional development, scholarship, or continued industry engagement.The candidate will participate in departmental initiatives, contribute to service activities within the department, University, and the broader community, and develop relationships with organizations in the field to facilitate student projects, internships, and job placements.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Master’s degree in Marketing or a closely related field required; Ph.D., DBA, or ABD preferred. Demonstrated excellence in teaching or training, preferably at the undergraduate level. Professional experience in marketing, market research, branding, digital strategy, or related areas strongly preferred. Commitment to Mercyhurst’s mission and values, including a dedication to ethical leadership and service. Tenure track status commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.
