Description:
The Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Marketing at the Assistant Professor level, with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2026. Salary and benefits are competitive with peer institutions. Responsibilities include teaching nine credit hours per semester (three courses), engaging in scholarly research leading to publications in high-quality refereed journals, and contributing service at the department, college, and/or university level.
Qualifications:
Candidates with research training and expertise in either marketing research or digital marketing are preferred for this position.
Successful (Ideal) candidates will possess the following requirements:
- Proven experience in fields such as digital marketing/social media marketing.
- Demonstrated past success in, or high potential for, exemplary teaching of introductory/advanced courses in: (i) marketing research and (ii) digital marketing/social media marketing. Additional teaching assignments may be available at the undergraduate or graduate level, depending on departmental or college needs.
- Expected to teach using various instructional modalities, including online instruction.
- Willingness to engage in assisting the UTC campus in its ability to reach additional goals as specified in UTC’s Strategic Plan.
- Successful candidates will also be expected to contribute service based on the needs and strategic priorities of: (i) the Dept. of Marketing & Entrepreneurship, (ii) the Rollins College of Business, and/or (iii) the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC).
Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. or DBA in Marketing, or closely related field from an AACSB-accredited business school. Candidates in the ABD stage of their doctoral studies are expected to complete the Ph.D. prior to this position’s start date of August 1, 2026.
