Responsibilities:
The School of
Mental Health Counseling at Belmont University is seeking applications for a tenure-track
faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 1,2026.
Position purpose: The Assistant Professor will teach graduate counseling courses, advise students, serve on dissertation committees, and participate in service and scholarly activity.
Basic functions as required by Provost Office include:
- Complete 18 graduate level workload hours, or equivalent, per academic year.
- Advise and mentor students in research and other class-related projects.
- Engage in activities to support the mission and vision of Belmont University and the college in which you teach.
- Participate in departmental and university committee work.
- Engage in scholarly activity and professional development.
- Advise students in course selection and degree completion.
- Participate in a local church and the community.
- Abide by all relevant university and/or department procedures and policies.
- Manage online grading system.
- Timely submission of book orders, if textbooks required.
- Maintain regular office hours.
- Supervise students in field experience courses.
- Comply with CACREP accreditation standards and policies.
- Assist with CACREP reports and processes as needed by the program.

Job
responsibilities include teaching graduate level counseling courses,
serving on dissertation committees, assisting with and adhering to CACREP
accreditation standards and policies. Additional responsibilities include
academic advising, student mentoring, scholarly activity, and college and
university service. A Ph.D. in counseling degree or ability to
serve as a CACREP denoted core faculty member is required; teaching and
clinical experience strongly preferred. As
all Belmont undergraduates complete an innovative general education program
with significant interdisciplinary components, Belmont University is

Required EducationThe successful hire must have a terminal degree in counseling.
Required ExperienceThe successful candidate is preferred to have teaching and clinical experience. The successful candidate must be licensure eligible.
