Job Description:

The Department of Neuroscience and Behavior at Mount Holyoke College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Neuroscience beginning July 1, 2026. A Ph.D. or ABD is required.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to build a rigorous program of high-quality research that actively involves undergraduate students and will possess a record of strong undergraduate teaching, including experience mentoring students who are broadly diverse with regard to race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, nationality, sexual orientation, disability, and religion.

Research interests across the discipline are welcome and may include human subjects research, vertebrate or invertebrate models, and/or computational approaches. We seek candidates with a strong commitment to undergraduate education who will contribute to the department’s core curriculum at the introductory (with lab), intermediate, and advanced levels by teaching four courses per year.

The ideal candidate will develop new intermediate-level courses that support the growing demand for quantitative reasoning across the discipline, as well as upper-level laboratory and seminar courses in their area of expertise.
