Chestnut Hill College invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track Assistant Professor position in the Master’s program in Clinical and Counseling Psychology (MCCP).

Position Overview

The Assistant Professor will serve as the Coordinator of the Field Placement Training program for students in the Master’s program in Clinical and Counseling Psychology (MCCP), advise graduate students, and teach two courses per semester during the fall, spring, and summer terms. One course each semester will be a group supervision course supporting field placement. The second course will be based on the candidate’s expertise and programmatic needs and may include general counseling courses or courses within one or more of the following concentration areas: Assessment and Treatment of Children and Adolescents; Trauma; Co-Occurring Disorders; Diverse and Underserved Communities; and Couple and Family Therapy.

A doctoral degree in psychology, counseling, or a closely related field is preferred. Exceptional candidates holding a master’s degree who meet all other qualifications will be considered. Candidates must be licensed or license-eligible in Pennsylvania, possess relevant clinical experience, and maintain active involvement in clinical practice or consultation. Preference will be given to candidates with training and experience in contemporary psychodynamic and/or systemic approaches, a commitment to culturally informed assessment and treatment, and a demonstrated dedication to social justice.

Field Placement Coordinator Role

The Assistant Professor serves as the Field Placement Coordinator and is responsible for overseeing the field placement training program for MCCP students. The Coordinator works collaboratively with MCCP faculty, advisors, college departments, and external training partners to support high-quality practicum and internship experiences while maintaining effective and consistent placement processes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing materials for and facilitating Field Placement Information Sessions.
  • Responding to student inquiries following information sessions and providing guidance regarding field placement processes, requirements, and timelines.
  • Coordinating and collaborating with MCCP advisors, college departments, and external partners to support effective field placement operations.
  • Conducting meetings with current and prospective training sites, evaluating and approving new sites as needed, and maintaining strong partner relationships.
  • Developing and distributing student communications regarding site availability, partnership application processes, deadlines, and placement expectations.
  • Coordinating site meetings for students and addressing placement-related questions or concerns.
  • Managing the Experiential Learning Cloud (ELC) system, including student entry and invitations, training site approvals, student-site matching, and auditing forms and documentation as needed.
  • Reviewing and approving training contracts, clearances, and insurance documentation while guiding students through required documentation and registration processes for practicum and internship experiences.
  • Creating practicum and internship course sections in ELC each semester and auditing records for accuracy and completion.
  • Projecting and communicating practicum and internship enrollment numbers for each semester.
  • Responding to graduate and state board documentation requests.
  • Collaborating with the college’s legal representative regarding special contracts, legal inquiries, and insurance matters related to field placement activities.
  • Maintaining accurate logs, records, and program documentation to support consistent placement processes.

The ability to collaborate effectively, manage multiple priorities, and maintain consistent processes is essential for success in this role.
