Job Summary
The School of Arts & Sciences seeks dynamic applicants for a Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Teacher Education. This is an academic year (10-month) position beginning on August 1.

Responsibilities –
* Teach courses primarily in educational foundations and elementary education level pedagogy for preservice teachers. Be willing to teach middle grades/secondary education courses as needed.
* Travel to, supervise and mentor teacher candidates in clinical field experiences.
* Prepare syllabi that align with course learning outcomes; implement research-informed and practice-based learning experiences with teacher candidates; and assess course learning outcomes in a variety of informal, formal, and performance-based means.
* Participate in academic advisement and engage in service to the Department of Education and Teacher preparation, College of Coastal Georgia, and the profession.
* Collaborate closely with faculty and PK-12 partners to support the success of our programs and students.
* Teach in hybrid or online modalities as needed.

Educational Requirements
* An earned doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Literacy Education, Elementary Education or a closely related field with a P-5 literacy specialization from an accredited institution.

Other Required Qualifications
* Expertise in the understanding and use of the Science of Reading. Please upload all evidence of training or certification in the Additional Documents section.
* Experience with in-service or pre-service teacher preparation
* Strong interpersonal skills that support collaboration with a variety of educational stakeholders

Required Experience
* Minimum of three years of full-time teaching experience at the elementary level.

Preferred Experience
* Experience teaching undergraduate education courses centering on literacy and/or general pedagogy.
* Teacher candidate field supervision experience.
* Experience teaching in online synchronous and asynchronous modalities.
