Job Summary
The College of Education at Georgia Southwestern State University invites applications for a full-time Lecturer or Assistant Professor position within the domain of Literacy Education. We seek a colleague with a strong commitment to teaching excellence and student engagement. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in undergraduate and/or graduate courses, contributing to curriculum development, and actively participating in service, scholarship, student success, and faculty development activities.
Required Qualifications
Lecturer:
- A master’s degree in Literacy, Reading, or a closely related field.
- A minimum of 18 hours of relevant literacy or reading graduate semester hours.
- At least three years of P-12 reading/literacy teaching experience.
- Experience in teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to engaging in the college, campus, and community.
Assistant Professor:
- An earned Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Literacy, Reading, or a closely related field. ABD will be considered.
- A minimum of 18 hours of relevant literacy or reading graduate semester hours.
- At least three years of P-12 reading/literacy teaching experience.
- Experience in teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to engaging in the college, campus, and community.
