Position Summary:

The Department of Health, Physical Education, and Sport Sciences [HPESS] seeks a highly qualified individual for the position of Assistant Professor of Sport Management/Administration (tenure-track). This position will deliver quality instruction at the undergraduate and graduate levels, develop and conduct scholarship within related disciplines, and contribute service to the university, community, and profession. Additional responsibilities will include the mentoring of students, assistance with program assessment, and program curriculum enhancement.

This position has an anticipated start date of August 2025 and is located on the Arkansas State University-Jonesboro campus. The university is committed to providing resources to support faculty teaching, research and professional travel

Duties & Responsibilities:

This position will deliver quality instruction at the undergraduate and graduate levels, develop and conduct scholarship within related disciplines, and contribute service to the university, community, and profession. Monday – Friday
8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience procuring external funding and work experience in the field is desirable.
College/university teaching experience in a variety of modalities (face-to-face, hybrid, and online)

Minimum Qualifications:

An earned doctorate in sport management or a closely related field is required. However, ABD candidates with teaching experience and scholarly productivity may also be considered.

Candidates should demonstrate evidence of a developing or established research program and a plan for continuing.

Candidate must include a cover letter, CV, teaching philosophy, and research statement to be considered.
