Advertised Job Summary

The University of South Carolina Beaufort invites applications for a Assistant Professor position (11-month) beginning August 2025. This position includes both classroom and simulation instruction equivalent to a 4/4 teaching load, with additional instructional responsibilities during the summer term.

The BSN program is looking for candidates who want to make a difference and have the vision to create a world-class education in a small university setting. The successful candidate will teach a variety of classroom and clinical courses to BSN students with preference given to a candidate with experience in medical-surgical nursing. Additional responsibilities include student advisement, service on committees and scholarship within the discipline.

The BSN program offers a pre-licensure track which prepares generalists to sit for NCLEX-RN®. Courses are taught at two locations, one on the USCB Bluffton campus and one at the Beaufort Memorial Hospital Complex in Beaufort, SC. The University of South Carolina Beaufort Nursing program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and approved by the South Carolina Board of Nursing.

Rank and salary commensurate with credentials and experience. A doctoral degree is required for consideration of a tenure-track position.

Required Education and Experience

Required Qualifications:

  • An unencumbered multi-state Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • National certification in simulation
  • PhD (ABD considered)

Preferred Qualifications

Doctoral degree in Nursing or related field; experience with high-fidelity simulation; national certification in nursing education (CNE), medical-surgical nursing, or family nursing.
