MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
We are seeking a qualified candidate with the following minimum qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Nursing from a nationally or regionally accredited institution, college, or university
- Hold appropriate, unencumbered licensure as a Registered Nurse in Georgia from initial date of appointment
- At least three years of teaching experience in a nursing education program leading to initial registered nurse licensure
- Experience in a supervisory role in education and industry
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (In addition to the minimum qualifications)
The ideal candidate will possess the following preferred qualifications:
- Three to five years’ post-secondary and/or higher education teaching experience.
- Demonstrated experience in educational or industry supervision and leadership.
- Experience in curriculum development, instructional design, planning, evaluation, budgeting, supervision, and program management.
- Proficiency with ACEMAPP or similar clinical placement and compliance management systems for student onboarding, clinical scheduling, and partner coordination.
- Experience scheduling student clinical rotations and collaborating with clinical affiliates to ensure compliance with GBON and ACEN requirements.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Georgia Board of Nursing rules and Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) Standards
- Experience with SACSCOC accreditation processes.
- Working knowledge of Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) policies, procedures, and operational processes.
DESCRIPTIONWorking with the Vice President of Academic Affairs (VPAA), the Assistant Vice President for Nursing (AVPN) serves as the nurse administrator for CNA, LPN, LPN/Paramedic to RN Bridge, ASN programs. The AVPN assumes authority and responsibility for the development, administration, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing education programs. This includes oversight of and budgeting for the program, selection and evaluation of the faculty, and evaluation of program outcomes. The AVPN is responsible for managing a broad range of activities in support of strategic planning, accreditation, scholarly activity, academic support, and faculty/staff development. The AVPN develops and maintains professional relationships with partners in business, industry, primary and secondary education, and other stakeholders to support the College’s mission and strategic goals. The AVPN ensures that all programs meet or exceed regulatory, accreditation, and industry standards (including clinical placements, ACEN accreditation, simulation lab management, and faculty/student compliance). The AVPN will collaborate closely with faculty, staff, program coordinators, industry partners, and community stakeholders to strengthen compliance processes, expand clinical opportunities, support curriculum and accreditation efforts, and lead forward-looking initiatives that address the region’s evolving healthcare workforce needs.
The AVPN serves as a member of the Academic Affairs leadership team and provides supervision to the Dean of Nursing.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
As the Assistant Vice President of Nursing, you will oversee all aspects of SCTC’s nursing programs.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Serving as nurse administrator
- Ensure quality instruction and compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards
- Develop and maintain community partnerships
- Select, supervise, and evaluate full and part time faculty
- Planning and organizing the unit’s work to meet the college’s objectives.
- Supervising and evaluating the performance of all full- and part-time faculty and staff within the nursing units.
- Reviewing and approving all requests for supplies and materials.
- Preparing the instructional program specifications and budget.
- Representing the department at various internal and external meetings.
- Developing and implementing an educational plan for all campus locations to ensure adequate staff, space, and materials.
- Addressing and resolving complaints and needs of students, faculty, staff, and outside customers.
- Serving as a liaison to departments of the technical college.
- Attending campus program advisory meetings.
- Providing leadership for committees, special projects, and initiatives as assigned.
- Developing and/or assisting with the development of policies and procedures and recommending changes to meet the goals and requirements of the College.
- Conducting regular evaluations of services provided and adjusting as needed.
- Completing other duties as assigned.

SALARY:
Salary will be commensurate with education and work experience. Additional benefits include paid state holidays, paid annual and sick leave, and participation in the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits Program.
