Job Description

Texas A&M International University (TAMIU), a member of the Texas A&M University System, welcomes applicants for an Associate or Full Professor of Criminal Justice to begin Fall 2026.

This is a full-time Associate or Full Professor of Criminal Justice to begin Fall 2026. This is a tenured (9-month) faculty position. Tenure will only be granted after approval of the Texas A&M University System Board of Regents. Primary duties will include conducting research and teaching of face-to-face and online undergraduate courses, online graduate courses, and hybrid doctoral courses. Duties also include service on departmental, college, university, and professional committees, including service on dissertation committees. This position requires face-to-face interactions through a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.

Required Qualifications

The successful candidate must hold a doctorate in Criminal Justice or a related field. While all specializations will be considered, candidates with expertise in policing, immigration and crime, quantitative research methods, and/or geospatial analysis are especially encouraged to apply. We strongly encourage candidates with strong research skills, a strong record of peer-reviewed publication, the potential for or prior experience with seeking and/or securing external grant funding, and at least 5 years of full-time university teaching experience.

Financial support for professional development opportunities, such as attending academic conferences, is also provided. Moving expenses are covered in whole or in part by the university.
