Primary Purpose and Essential Functions:
The Eberhardt School of Business at the University of the Pacific invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant/Associate Professor of Business with a specialization in Sport Management & Analytics beginning August 2026. Salary is competitive with full benefits for the academic year.

The Eberhardt School of Business has 21 full-time faculty members serving approximately 400 undergraduate and 105 graduate students. Accredited by AACSB International, the Eberhardt School offers a B.S. in Business Administration with majors in Accounting, Business Analytics, Hotel & Hospitality Management, Finance, Management & Human Resources, and Sport Management & Analytics. At the graduate level, the Eberhardt School offers a Master of Accounting, Master of Business Administration, and an M.S. in both Business Analytics and Finance.

Essential Functions:

  • The position requires teaching five (5) classes per academic year (3/2 or 2/3 course load) and undergraduate academic advising in the Eberhardt School.
  • The successful candidate will teach Sport Marketing, Sport Analytics, and Advanced Sport Analytics.
  • Additional responsibilities may include the ability to teach marketing management courses and/or other core business classes based on candidate expertise.
  • Candidates are expected to conduct and publish peer-reviewed research in sport management, sport analytics, and/or related business fields according to the expectations of the Eberhardt School.
  • The supervision of undergraduate internships may also be included in the workload.
  • University and Eberhardt School service are expected of all tenure-track faculty members.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A doctorate in either sport management or a related business discipline is required although ABD candidates will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least one (1) year of university teaching experience is recommended.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated the ability to develop and execute on a scholarly research plan in the field of sport management, sport analytics, or related business area.
  • Experience in the sport industry and participation in professional organizations are desirable.
  • Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
  • Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.
