Job Description:

Manhattanville University invites applications for a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor of Biology in the School of Arts and Sciences. This position carries a teaching load of 30 credits per academic year and focuses on instruction in Anatomy and Physiology I and II for Health Sciences students. The successful candidate will join a collaborative and interdisciplinary faculty committed to excellence in teaching and student engagement.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

    Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Teach undergraduate courses in Anatomy and Physiology I and II, as well as other Biology courses as needed.
  • Develop and update curriculum to reflect current scientific knowledge and pedagogical best practices.
  • Advise and mentor students in academic and career planning.
  • Participate in departmental, school, and university service, including committee work and program development.
  • Collaborate with faculty across disciplines to support the growth of Natural Sciences and Health Sciences programs.
  • Engage in professional development to stay current in the field.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population, including low socioeconomic and first-generation students.
  • Ability to teach a range of Biology courses including Anatomy and Physiology.
  • Ability to integrate technology and innovative teaching methods.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Brightspace, and/ or related software.

    Qualifications:

    Education:

  • Doctoral degree in Biology, Physiology, Health Sciences, Physical Therapy, or a closely related field.

    Experience:

  • Demonstrated evidence of excellence in teaching at the college level.
  • Experience teaching Anatomy and Physiology courses to undergraduates.
  • Familiarity with laboratory instruction and hands-on learning.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment.

    Physical Requirements:

    Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, ability to lift 15 pounds.

    Hours Expectation:

    Full-time, 35 hours per week
