The Physician Assistant Department at Nazareth University is looking for a Clinical Assistant Professor to begin Spring of 2026. This role is composed of teaching, scholarship and service.
Essential Functions
- Develop and deliver academic courses as assigned, to include curriculum development, teaching and student assessment.
- Assist with curriculum evaluation and improvement.
- Perform student evaluations of objective structured clinical examinations (OSCEs), lab practicals, and clinical skills and procedure sessions during the didactic and clinical phases of the program.
- Provide remedial instruction and reassessment as needed.
- Conduct site visits of clinical phase students as assigned, to include clinical site monitoring and student evaluation.
- Participate in the student recruitment, selection and admissions process.
- Participate in the academic counseling of students as assigned.
- Participate in developing, reviewing and revising the mission statement, program goals and program competencies, as necessary.
- Maintain accurate student records and enforce academic policies consistent with the University, College and Program.
- Participate in ongoing program evaluation and maintaining compliance of ARC-PA accreditation standards.
- Serve on departmental, college and university committees as assigned.
- Conduct and disseminate scholarship.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Education, Experience, Technology and Skills
- Doctoral degree in a health-related field
- Current certification in area of clinical practice
- Eligibility for licensure in NY state
- At least three years of prior academic or clinical teaching experience
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Skilled in working with a variety of different student learning styles
- Ability to perform duties autonomously with minimal supervision
- At least three years of prior clinical experience
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, and successfully meet deadlines
Preferred
- Experience as principal faculty in a PA Program
- Experience with remote teaching and assessment
