Lake Land College seeks an innovative and collaborative leader to serve as Dean of Instruction. The Dean will support the Vice President for Academic Services in advancing instructional excellence, faculty development, and student success initiatives. This position plays a key role in guiding academic divisions, ensuring curriculum quality, fostering innovation in teaching and learning, and aligning programs with institutional and workforce needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership in academic program development, assessment, and Guided Pathways initiatives.
- Lead faculty and division chairs in curriculum development, academic innovation, and assessment-driven improvement.
- Support faculty recruitment, supervision, and professional development.
- Assist with strategic planning, accreditation, and institutional assessment efforts.
- Oversee budget planning, instructional resources, and compliance with college policies and accreditation standards.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners, including community organizations, advisory boards, and high schools, to expand educational opportunities and pathways.
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree required; Doctorate preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of five years of teaching and progressive administrative experience in higher education, preferably at a community college.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Expertise in curriculum development, faculty supervision, and academic assessment.
- Familiarity with tenure processes, collective bargaining agreements, and higher education compliance.
