The Academic Dean provides leadership to personnel and management of procedures and processes in assigned areas. The Dean will coordinate activities, resolve faculty and student issues related to designated areas, and collaborate with personnel from across the college and community in support of the College’s mission.
The Dean of Workforce Programs provides administrative oversight to workforce program leaders and works collaboratively with community partners and faculty to develop new workforce programs.
The Dean of Workforce Programs is responsible for demonstrating LSSC’s core values of Caring, Communicating, Collaborating, and Celebrating when interacting with students, employees, visitors, and community members.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include, but are not limited to the following:
Work collaboratively with faculty and program directors to ensure academic quality while focusing on student retention and completion.
Collaborate with faculty, Program Managers / Directors, and community partners on program development, curriculum development, and articulation agreements. Oversee the teach-out of discontinued programs as appropriate.
Collaborate with Program Managers / Directors and other administrators in the development of an efficient class schedule that meets student needs.
Represent the college by serving on local workforce boards.
Collaborate with program directors on the management of program advisory boards.
Ensure that student learning outcomes assessment plans are being followed with a focus on continuous improvement.
Responsible for meaningful program and service review of assigned areas, focusing on continuous improvement.
Work with leaders of assigned areas on annual budget construction and management.
Supervise recruitment and evaluation of all personnel in assigned areas.
Collaborate on faculty and staff development initiatives.
Supervise assigned clerical staff.
Interact with community stakeholders as appropriate to advance the mission of the College.
Serve on College committees as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications & Education
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
Master’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering Technology, or other Career and Technical Education field.
A minimum of five (5) years of full-time, relevant professional experience in a field related to the Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs offered by the institution. Experience must demonstrate current knowledge of industry practices, technologies, and workforce needs.
A minimum of three (3) years of progressive administrative or leadership experience in an academic, corporate, or non-profit setting. This experience must include demonstrated success in areas such as program development, faculty supervision, budget management, strategic planning, or accreditation processes.
A minimum of three (3) years of documented, successful teaching experience at the college or university level, preferably within a CTE or workforce development program.
Preferred:
Experience with Florida College System and accrediting agency policies and procedures.
