Director of Nursing Overview
Job Summary:
Central Coast College is seeking a dynamic Director of Nursing to lead our Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN) program. This role is responsible for ensuring program compliance with state and accrediting bodies, overseeing faculty and clinical placements, supporting NCLEX preparation, and maintaining strong student outcomes. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, curriculum oversight, and a passion for student success in nursing education.
Essential Job Functions:
- Administer the LVN education program to ensure compliance with licensing boards and accrediting agencies.
- Oversee the NCLEX review process and ensure student readiness and success on the licensing exam.
- Maintain program compliance with NCLEX pass rate standards, achieving 80% or higher pass rates annually.
- Supervise and support nursing faculty, including recruitment, evaluation, development, and retention.
- Coordinate and oversee clinical rotations, ensuring alignment with academic and site requirements.
Requirements:
- Master’s Degree or higher in Nursing or a related field.
- RN License
- Strong leadership and supervisory experience, especially in nursing education or program administration.
- Knowledge of NCLEX preparation and compliance standards set by the Board of Vocational Nursing and accrediting bodies.
- Ability to evaluate and support faculty performance and development effectively.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.

Pay: $115,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year
