Mohave College is seeking an innovative, intellectual, diverse, experienced, motivated, and inspiring professional to serve as Faculty, Clinical Coordinator/Director of Clinical Education in our Respiratory Care program. Typical Duties

  1. Direct the Respiratory Therapy clinical education through the instruction of students to ensure training of quality patient care.
  2. – Evaluate the effectiveness and performance of clinical instructors.
  3. – Visit clinical facilities, and provide guidance and counseling with regard to teaching practices.
  4. – Ensure students receive technical instruction from instructors at clinical sites.
  5. – Ensure all students receive medical physician contacts .
  6. – Develop guidelines for students to maintain physician interaction in the clinical seeing.
  7. – Coordinate with clinical staff to establish a clinical assignment for students.
  8. – Develop clinical objectives and evaluations.
  9. – Conduct orientation for students to each clinical education site.
  10. – Monitor competency evaluations and review clinical records with students.
  11. – Evaluate the performance of students regarding course objectives and make necessary provisions to meet learning needs .
  12. – Instructs students in both classroom theory and learning laboratory.
  13. – Collaborate with Director, Respiratory Care to prepare lecture plans and materials.
  14. – Provide feedback to students.
  15. – Coordinate the clinical education for the Respiratory Care program (s), to include clinical faculty schedules.
  16. – Coordinate and revise the clinical education plan.
  17. – Recommend changes to the Director, Respiratory Care.
  18. – Maintain student grades in accordance with established policies .
  19. – Prepare final grades at the end of each semester to update student records and transcripts.
  20. – Collaborate with public and community respiratory care agencies.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Baccalaureate degree from an academic institute accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency recognized by the U.S
  • Graduate of an CoARC accredited Respiratory Therapy program recognized by the U.S.
  • Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, or an otherwise recognized training entity (e.g., hospital-based program) in the specialty field
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential and current state license.
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) State license
  • Four (4) years of experience as a registered respiratory therapist of which at least two (2) year must include experience in clinical respiratory care
  • Two (2) years of experience in a CoARC accredited respiratory therapy program, either as an appointed faculty member or as a clinical preceptor.
  • CoARC Key Personnel Training Program
  • Must hold current license, certification or other designation as required by local, state or federal laws to work in the respiratory therapy field.
