Job description

The computer science department at Salem State University is seeking applicants for a full time, tenure track faculty position. The successful candidate will demonstrate a clear vision of the future of the computing field in general and the information technology discipline in particular; show evidence of a commitment to the teaching-learning process in a four-year undergraduate program; and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills. Teaching assignments will include introductory, intermediate-level, and advanced-level information technology courses and computer science courses.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as Faculty in the Computer Science department, provide instruction and teaching for a four-year undergraduate program. Teaching assignments will include introductory, intermediate-level, and advanced-level information technology courses and computer science courses. The position will include teaching 12 credits hours per semester, advising, scholarship and contributions to the department and university.

Required Qualifications:

Must have PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a closely related field or PhD candidate, all but dissertation.

Any amount of experience teaching undergraduate or graduate level teaching introductory, intermediate, or advance level information technology courses applying the latest computing technologies including programming languages like Java, Python, C, and/or C++, SWL for information management systems, Packet Tracer, Wireshare, and basic commands for computer networks and security, and HTML, CSS, Javascript, and PHD for web systems.

Working Location

This is an onsite position in Salem, MA with on-campus, in-person responsibilities.
