REPORTS TO: Chair, Business and Computer Science
* Full-Time Tenure Track Opportunity beginning in Fall 2025
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports student learning by providing quality instruction for a wide variety of college-level Cybersecurity courses, including but not limited to Information Security; Micro Computer Operating Systems and Architecture; System Administration; Network Security; Digital Forensics; and Ethical Hacking and Penetration Testing.
May also teach courses related to Network Administration and Information Technology (IT) disciplines.
- Establishes clear course objectives; engaging class activities; effective presentations of learning materials; fair grading practices; timely responses to students; and a positive classroom atmosphere.
- Handles a teaching load of fifteen (15) contact hours per semester. Related responsibilities include maintaining five (5) office hours per week for student advisement and tutoring and participating in departmental, divisional, and College-wide activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master of Science in Cybersecurity or a related discipline from an accredited program
- College teaching experience
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* An earned Ph.D. degree in Cybersecurity or a related discipline from an accredited program
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CEH, or other industry-recognized credentials) are highly desirable
- Community college teaching experience
* Industry experience in Cybersecurity or AI related fields
* Evidence of incorporating digital technologies in both face-to-face and online/remote classrooms and familiarity with Canvas Learning Management System
- Commitment to a culture of assessment and evidence-informed teaching
- Knowledge of the College’s mission and vision
- Evidence of diverse instructional methods that address a variety of learning styles
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:
SCHEDULE: Ten (10)-Month Position
