POSITION SUMMARY:
The Department of Psychology at Alma College, Alma, Michigan invites applications for an Instructor/Lecturer of Psychology. This is a one-year, full-time, non-tenure-track faculty position beginning August 2025. The standard teaching load for this position is six units throughout the academic year and may include teaching in different modalities.
The department seeks a candidate with expertise in clinical or counseling psychology who is committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching. The successful candidate will teach courses in Psychopathology, Foundations of Psychology, and possibly Clinical Interviewing.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The position requires a Master’s degree in Psychology, with a specialization in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or a closely related area, for Instructor rank; Lecturers must have a Ph.D./Psy.D. The candidate must be able to teach Psychopathology.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
College-level teaching experience, experience working with underrepresented, first-generation, Pell-eligible, and diverse populations, and demonstrated effectiveness in undergraduate teaching is preferred.
