Job Summary
The full-time Instructor – Nursing, Adult Medical Surgical Specialty provides classroom, clinical, and simulation instruction. Responsible for instructing and facilitating student learning to promote student success in a professional and ethical manner. This position is part of the teaching faculty and reports to the designated administrator.
Please Note: This position will start with the Winter 2025 semester (January, 2026).

Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Nursing.
- Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse License-Unencumbered
- One (1) year of adult Med/Surgical Nursing teaching experiences within the last three (3) years.
- Two (2) years of adult Med/Surgical Nursing clinical experiences with the last five (5) years, including EMR and computer competency.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience teaching in the classroom setting within Higher Education.

- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide with all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

- Office Environment: This role may involve being in a stationary position in front of a computer, using a keyboard, mouse (or applicable equipment) and telephone. Specific vision abilities required may include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Hours: Variable, minimum 14-16 credit hours per week in Fall and Winter, minimum of 5 office hours per week.
Salary: Per Faculty Contract
