General Description
Pay for this position is based on a 9-month contract working fall and spring semesters. Anticipated start date for this position is August 2025.
Salary Range: 0 to 10 years’ Experience
Up to a Masters: $48,550 to $53,550
Doctorate: $55,050 to $60,050
The maximum number of years of experience an employee may receive is ten years.
The permanent responsibility of a faculty member is to provide the most effective instruction possible in his/her discipline. Supervision is received from appropriate supervisor. The faculty member works to insure that his/her instruction is meeting the educational needs of students. The instructor will direct the WCJC bands and teach music major courses such as private instrumental lessons, music theory, and/or sight singing and ear training. The instructor will recruit students for the music programs.
Requirements
This position requires a minimum of master’s degree (in Music or other discipline) and a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Music from a regionally accredited institution. This position is required to meet minimum requirements for teaching at the post-secondary level set by the Southern Association of colleges and Schools, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, and accrediting agencies for individual programs if applicable. A criminal background check is required.
