Scope of Job:
The Department of Theatre at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) is seeking to hire a Lecturer I to teach in its Bachelor’s in Theatre program.
We are currently hiring for an adjunct position in Film Production for Fall 2025 only.
Applicants may be assigned one or more of the listed courses.
Minimum Qualifications:
The qualifications to be considered for a part time lecturer are an MA in film or MA in related field with 18 graduate hours of theatre or film from an accredited institution or related professional experience.
Discipline Specific Required Qualifications:
Relevant experience in the subject area is required. Courses with technical components require demonstrated technical expertise.
Preferred Qualification:
Salary: Lecturers are paid per course taught commensurate with experience and/or qualifications. All positions are subject to budget approval.

Additional Information:
UTRGV is a distributed institution. As such and as assigned, the position may require presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Work is performed primarily in a general office environment. This position is security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code 51.215. The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
