Job description

The Division of Kinesiology and Sport Management (KSM) at the University of South Dakota invites applications for a full-time instructor or lecturer position beginning Fall 2026. We are seeking a dynamic and collaborative educator who is passionate about student success and committed to excellence in teaching and engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a variety of undergraduate courses across the kinesiology and sport management curriculum. Possibilities include Introduction to Kinesiology and Sport Management, Organization and Administration of KSM, Resistance Training Basics, and Stress Management.
  • Engage in departmental, university, and professional service.
  • Serve as advisor for the Young Professionals in Exercise and Sport club.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a master’s degree in kinesiology, sport management, or related area.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Evidence of successful teaching experience and ability to teach across multiple areas of kinesiology.

Salary/Compensation: Salary is commensurate with qualifications. This position is a 9-month, non-tenure track appointment with the possibility of summer employment for additional compensation.Authorization to Work: Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. Sponsorship is not available for this position.

DIVISION OF KINESIOLOGY AND SPORT MANAGEMENT: The Division of Kinesiology and Sport Management (KSM) is committed to excellence in teaching, research, and service. SCHOOL OF EDUCATION: The School of Education is organized into four basic Divisions: Teacher Residency & Education: Educational Leadership; Counseling and Psychology in Education; and Kinesiology & Sport Management. Graduate work is available through the doctorate in several program areas. The Education unit is accredited/approved by CAEP, CACREP, and NASP.
