We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Mechatronic Assistant Instructor to support the teaching of advanced manufacturing courses. The ideal candidate will assist in delivering high-quality education, preparing instructional materials, and providing hands-on support to students in both classroom and laboratory settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and assist the lead instructor in planning and delivering lectures, labs, and practical sessions on advanced manufacturing and mechatronics.
  • Occasionally or an on-going basis, collaborate with an adult basic education instructor to promote integrated education and training activities.
  • Prepare and organize instructional materials, including lab equipment, software, and other teaching aids.
  • Provide one-on-one and group tutoring to students, helping them understand complex concepts and complete assignments.
  • Supervise and guide students during laboratory sessions, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
  • Evaluate student performance through assessments, projects, and exams, providing constructive feedback.
  • Attend professional development as required to stay updated with the latest advancements in mechatronics and advanced manufacturing technologies.
  • Collaborate and participate in curriculum development and continuous improvement of course content with DWED staff and internal/external partners.
  • Support the lead instructor in administrative tasks such as grading, attendance tracking, and maintaining student records.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and success.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Mechatronics certificate/certifications
  • Some field experience
  • 3+ years of advanced manufacturing experience, Mechatronics focus
  • Electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, & mechanical knowledge
  • Experience teaching adults or facilitating training
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Knowledge of student learning management information systems such as Lumens/Amatrol
