We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Mechatronic Assistant Instructor to support the teaching of advanced manufacturing courses. The ideal candidate will assist in delivering high-quality education, preparing instructional materials, and providing hands-on support to students in both classroom and laboratory settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate and assist the lead instructor in planning and delivering lectures, labs, and practical sessions on advanced manufacturing and mechatronics.
- Occasionally or an on-going basis, collaborate with an adult basic education instructor to promote integrated education and training activities.
- Prepare and organize instructional materials, including lab equipment, software, and other teaching aids.
- Provide one-on-one and group tutoring to students, helping them understand complex concepts and complete assignments.
- Supervise and guide students during laboratory sessions, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Evaluate student performance through assessments, projects, and exams, providing constructive feedback.
- Attend professional development as required to stay updated with the latest advancements in mechatronics and advanced manufacturing technologies.
- Collaborate and participate in curriculum development and continuous improvement of course content with DWED staff and internal/external partners.
- Support the lead instructor in administrative tasks such as grading, attendance tracking, and maintaining student records.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and success.
Preferred Qualifications
- Mechatronics certificate/certifications
- Some field experience
- 3+ years of advanced manufacturing experience, Mechatronics focus
- Electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, & mechanical knowledge
- Experience teaching adults or facilitating training
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students.
- Knowledge of student learning management information systems such as Lumens/Amatrol
