Brescia University located in Owensboro, Kentucky is searching for a Physician Assistant Program Principal Faculty member to help develop a new M.S. in Physician Assistant Studies Program. This position is a 12-month full-time faculty member with administrative responsibilities.

Qualifications are

:*Terminal degree in an appropriate academic field applicable to PA education and/or NCCPA-certified PA

*Eligible for or currently possess Kentucky PA licensure without a history of negative board action (if applicable)

*Master’s degree required; doctoral degree preferred* Minimum 3 years of clinical or academic experience; effective communication, time management and organizational skills; demonstrated ability to work with diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities are, but are not limited to:

  •  Manage the program’s admissions process,
  • Demonstrate responsibility for and actively participate in the processes of:

o developing, reviewing and revising as necessary the mission statement, goals and competencies of the program,

o selecting applicants for admission to the PA program,

o providing student instruction,

o academic counseling of students and evaluation of student performance,

o assuring the availability of remedial instruction,

o designing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating the curriculum, ando evaluating the program,

  •  Serve as a liaison for instructional faculty,
  • Support the recruitment of supervised clinical practice experience sites,
  • Conduct clinical/preceptor site visits per PA Program policy,
  • Participate in and support accreditation related activities, including administrative aspects of the program,
  • Adherence to University and PA Program policies and procedures,
  • Participate in scholarship and service activities as required to maintain licensure and board certification.

Brescia University was founded by the Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph in 1950. Its origins are in Mount Saint Joseph Junior College for Women, established at Maple Mount, Kentucky, in 1925. Between 1925 and 1950, coeducational extension courses in Owensboro led to the creation of a second campus and, after 1949, consolidation of the two campuses at the present site of Brescia University. In 1951, Brescia began operating as a four-year College.
