Position Summary
There are openings for two (2) faculty positions as non-tenure faculty appointments that primarily teaches in the Master of Science Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner program at Utica University. Although instruction will be held online, this position will require on-campus presence. On campus presence will also be required at the program’s Immersion Weekends held each term. While the full complement of duties is determined in consultation with the Chair of the Nursing Department and the Dean of Health Professions and Education, this position is based primarily on the needs of the specific Nursing programs and personnel being served, the essential qualifications and responsibilities are as follows;
Major Responsibilities
- Oversight in the curriculum design and delivery of the program: Oversight of designated nursing courses in the program. Collaborate with nursing faculty for curriculum development, delivery, and program assessment. Maintain the online learning management system course shells consistent with the nursing faculty expectations. Coordinate with practicum faculty regarding policies, procedures, and grading for designated courses.
- Teaching: Teaching duties will be established in consultation with the nursing program directors, Chair of Nursing, and the Dean of Health Professions & Education.
- Professional Development/Scholarship: Continue active role expectations congruent with American Associate of University Professors – Utica University (AAUP-UU) contractual agreement and professional interests.
- Accountability: Attend Department, School, and University-wide meetings and events outlined by the AAUP-UU contract. Make recommendations to the faculty regarding updating curriculum in the areas of course oversight.
Education & Experience Qualifications
- Registered Nurse
- Earned Doctorate in Nursing from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized organization.
- Earned master’s degree from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized organization Nursing degree(s) from an accredited school of nursing.
- Candidates must hold or be eligible for New York State and Florida registration as a registered nurse and as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
- Evidence of 5 years’ recent employment experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner
- Evidence of 3 years’ experience as an educator in a graduate nursing program. Online teaching experience is preferred.
