Job description

The Department of Psychology in the Sutton School of Social Sciences at Ouachita Baptist University invites applications for a tenure-track appointment to begin August 2026. The successful candidate will display evidence of successful classroom teaching, scholarship and/or qualified professional experience; a commitment to collegial service; an authentic Christian faith lived out through personal discipleship and active involvement in a local church; support for the University’s vision, mission, values, and statement of faith; and a commitment to our Christian liberal arts tradition. A Ph.D. in Psychology in hand by August 2026 is preferred (ABD candidates may be considered). Area of specialization is open; preference will be given to candidates with ability and willingness to teach General Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Statistics, Cognition, and/or Personality. Teaching expectations typically include four courses each semester. Research activities that emphasize undergraduate student collaboration are expected.

Ouachita is a Christian liberal arts university founded in 1886.
