Job description

Taylor University is seeking applications and nominations of distinctive candidates for a faculty appointment of a tenure track position in the School of Nursing beginning August 2026. Rank and salary are dependent upon qualifications and experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

This position is primarily responsible to:

  • Testify to personal experience of salvation in Jesus Christ, affirm belief in the University’s Statement of Faith, abide by and practice our Life Together Covenant, and both personally agree with and support the Foundational Documents of Taylor University.
  • Develop and deliver course content for a variety of undergraduate nursing courses in didactic, clinical, lab, and simulated settings. The candidate will be expected to teach a standard teaching and clinical load of 24-27 hours per academic year.
  • Utilize innovative teaching methods, including simulations, and hands-on clinical training.
  • Assess student performance through exams, assignments, and clinical evaluations.
  • Provide academic advising and mentorship to students.
  • Design and update nursing curricula to meet accreditation standards and industry needs.
  • Incorporate evidence-based practices and current trends into the course materials.
  • Maintain clinical competence in nursing practice to support teaching.
  • Participate in department meetings and contribute to strategic planning initiatives.
  • Assist with program accreditation processes and ensure compliance with regulatory bodies.

Other duties as assigned.

Typical Qualifications

  • An earned doctorate from an accredited institution in nursing or a related field is preferred but consideration will be given to candidates with a master’s degree and significant nursing experience.
  • An unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Indiana.
  • Some teaching experience is desirable.
