Job Description Summary:
As a part of the general administration of the College, the Vice President of Communication and Marketing is directly responsible to the College President/CEO. In fulfilling the duties of office, the Vice President shall act within the framework of College policy.
The Vice President of Communications and Marketing is responsible for the development of College communication, marketing, student recruitment and branding strategies. The Vice President plans and directs activities in alignment with and in support of the Colleges mission, vision, and goals to advance the brand and contribute to the Colleges success.
The Vice President is responsible for managing the Colleges public relations and communication functions as well as representing the College within the community and region. The Vice President directs internal and external communication strategies that support a cohesive and well informed College and community. The Vice President manages and supports communications associated with crisis and issues management. In addition, the Vice President serves as the principal media liaison and spokesperson.
Marketing initiatives under the direction of the Vice President include brand awareness, ad and media campaigns, media relations, web content, social media strategy and messaging, college publications, and implementation of marketing research and market segmentation strategies. The Vice President will also collaborate with other College executives to lead integrated marketing efforts. The Vice President will manage the coordinated efforts of the College Relations team as well as being a hands-on partner who will develop and help produce communication and marketing efforts as needed.
The Vice President of Communications and Marketing has executive oversight of on campus events conducted by internal stakeholders and external groups who utilize Del Mar College facilities. Works with internal and external partners to support and enhance Del Mar College related events.
Executive oversight of community related sponsorship activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree.
Seven (7) years of experience in a senior management position in communications and marketing.
Three (3) years supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters Degree.
Experience in Higher Education.
