Friends University seeks a mission-driven and student-centered leader to serve as the Vice President of Student Life. Reporting to the President, the VPSL provides leadership for daily operations and programs that support student engagement and wellbeing outside the classroom. Areas of oversight include Residence Life, Student Engagement, Student Conduct, Inclusion & International Student Services, and Career Services.

The VPSL fosters a collaborative, caring environment that supports student development, belonging, and success. The role manages professional staff, coordinates responses to student concerns and campus incidents, contributes to policy implementation, and ensures Student Life operations reflect the university’s Christian mission, vision, and RISE values. The VPSL also participates in the student conduct process and maintains strong partnerships across campus to enhance the student experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, Organizational Leadership, or a related field
  • 5–7 years of progressively responsible experience in Student Life or Student Affairs, budgeting, and policy development
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise professional staff, work collaboratively, and support a diverse student population
  • Strong commitment to Christian faith, mission, and values
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and technology skills

Starting at $90,000 annually + fringe benefits, commensurate with experience and aligned with Friends compensation structure.
