The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Iowa invites applications for a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor to serve as a clinical educator in Speech-Language Pathology for Fall 2025 and Spring 2026. Qualified candidates with clinical expertise in any area of Speech, Language, or Swallowing are encouraged to apply.
This position is located in a thriving clinic within the Department that maintains active collaborations with the UIHC Departments of Otolaryngology, Neurology, and Neurosurgery, Center for Development and Disability, Grantwood AEA and other local outpatient clinics.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibility is clinical teaching of MS-SLP graduate students in clinical practice. This includes individual or group meetings with assigned students, supervision of clinical practice, providing feedback on clinical work and documentation, developing students’ critical thinking skills, grading, and evaluation of graduate students.
REQUIREMENTS
- Master’s degree or PhD in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- At least two years of clinical experience.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as a speech-language pathologist in the state of Iowa.
- Demonstrated commitment to promoting a welcoming and respectful clinical education environment.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION
- Experience with clinical instruction.
